Task Scheduler

May 24, 2005 5:24AM PDT

Is there a way to use task scheduler to force a reboot on XP machines? We have some users that refuse to shut down on required days and it creates major problems the following day.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

If...

...those ''some users'' (employees ?)can't obey a simple instruction to do so, surely they will disregard other instructions ? So, even if it is possible to do that at Task Scheduler, you still will have a lot of problems ! Anyway, have a look HERE. If that does not work, you may need a third party application.

If you have a server, you can set the server to disconnect them.

Thanks guys,
Yes, we're aware of the server part; however there are some users that are not directly connected (long story...cheap bosses) but only communicate on demand.
We tried the scheduler before but for some reason it seemed not to respond all the time.
Again, thanks

Remove their computer access
May 25, 2005 4:33AM PDT

Obviously we're not aware of all the facts in your situation, but if this is as serious a problem as you suggest, then perhaps you or other senior management should consider removing computer access to these people.

It seems to me this is a problem of management, not of technical issues.
