Task Manager Processes

Jan 31, 2005 8:26PM PST

What are all the processes that show listed in task manager? Does it help computer speed to delete some while working? And is there a book for newbies that explains a computers systems and files, why they are there, what shouldn't be there, and how to improve performance? Thanks so much.

PirateMonkey, Press your Alt/Ctrl/Del keyboard keys at the same time. If you're using Windows XP you can also right click an empty space on your Taskbar and click on Task Manager. The link below is helpfull in determining which processes are needed to run and which aren't for Windows XP.
