I recently upgraded to Win 10 and since when I want to shut down the desktop there is this thing running "task host windows" which I have to force shut it don

There is a type of virus that causes this.

This has been know to occur in windows 7 and isn't related to Windows 10 specifically. This file is need by WIndows but somrtimes it gets hijacked and copied over with a harmful file.
