Question

Task host window

Jan 4, 2018 5:45AM PST

I was reading a post dated Oct. 19, 2017 (Looks good) regarding processes running in Task Manager. How do you know which processes you can delete/shut down? I have 95 processes listed and several of them look like they're duplicates/triplicates or more. They are all not running at once but why are there so many of the same listed? Any ideas?

I appreciate any light you might shed on this for me.

Some of them are Svchost.exe entries. I tried to attach a partial list of some of them, but I can't get the document to paste - sorry. Any suggestions?

I appreciate you responding so quickly.

Msconfig>startup.

Look over the list and ask yourself do I need this product and do I need it running all the time.

If you don't need the product uninstall it.

If you can start the product on an as needed basis then uncheck it and start the product manually when needed and then stop it when finished.

It's a slow process of making the machine skinny.

Sitting at the desktop I see 25 processes.

As I open stuff the processes count goes up.
