How can I resize the bottom task bar? I prefer to have just one line but it is showing 2 lines.

Just like any other window. Move the mouse over the edge until you see the resize pointer, click and drag it to the new size.

Try:
* Right-click the Taskbar.
* Uncheck Lock the Taskbar.
* Place your mouse at the top of the Taskbar.
* Press & hold down with the Left button.
* Drag it down to the size you want.
* Now lock your Taskbar again.
