Talk about going over the line...........

Apr 13, 2004 9:31AM PDT

Campaign 2004 turns extreme in Florida with the placement
of a newspaper ad calling for physical retribution
against Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld!

"We should put this S.O.B. up against a wall and say
'This is one of our bad days,' and pull the trigger,"
the ad reads.

I heard in the news later in the day that the larger
democratic organization in Florida was very angry and
that the ad had been pulled.

The ad is the symbol of the hate filled vitriole
against the Bush administration that we have come to
know from those still not over the 2000 election
shocker.

More recently (privately)advised that even though the
State Democratic Organization strongly disapproves
the ad, and ordered it stopped, it is in print
in a weekly paper that hits the stands Wednesday.

Since some would say that's only "Drudgery", here's a link from the Washington Times and the Tampa Tribune. I wonder if the VVAW is getting back together. Perhaps someone should give Kerry a call and ask.

The ''organization'' responsible is a small group of senior citizens
Apr 13, 2004 11:24PM PDT

The club's VP is 88 years old. My guess is that this is a group of seniors who get together and chat about politics over tea, and someone got out of hand and wrote this ad. I'm surprised it got published, even in a small local paper.

The Democratic party has denounced the ad and will likely revoke the club's charter as a result of this act. The "Drudgery" is in the sensational headlines making it sound like the Democratic party was behind it.

All the reports I read were clear to point out that thias was the doing of some local club, including Drudges report. None claimed that it was supported by the national party. I was just pointing out that they have the spirit of the VVAW.
