Taking count.................

Apr 29, 2004 12:43AM PDT

During this campaign season there are those who are determined to
make the current Administration look bad anyway they can, and
without telling anyone how they would do things differently, and when
they do say something, they forget to tell us how they are going to
get the Congress to support them.

The mainstream media continues with their motto of "If it doesn't bleed,
it doesn't lead", so we only see reports from an extremely small fraction of
Iraq.

It is tragic and heartfelt to lose members of the armed forces anywhere
and anytime, but that is a hard cold fact that accompanies the mission of
the military.

How long has it been since you've heard of widespread electrical outages
in Iraq ? When did you last hear of shortages of clean water or gasoline
in Iraq ? When was the last report you heard of food shortages in Iraq ?
They even have regularly scheduled garbage pickups thruout the country,
something most of Iraq had never seen. And isn't this the real objective
of activity in Iraq, to restore that country ?

There are multiple times more teachers in class rooms each day, then there
are armed insurgents attempting to disrupt the country.

Except for Fallujah and Najaf, life goes on thruout Iraq. Iraqi Government
Agencies and Ministries are being stood up and are functioning.

Iraqi Military/Security Forces and Police are functioning and accomplishing
positive results. The "40% of military who refused to fight", as reported
heavily in the media, was 40% of a very small unit, not the entire military.

America needs to "keep the faith" with those whose lives are on the line in
Iraq, and stop providing moral support and encouragement to the bad guys
via cheap political headlines here in the USofA.

Put out a lot more Yellow Ribbons and a lot less political cartoons.

At least that is how I see it from my blurred vision.

....to be careful in your use of terms.

DISAFFECTION is one of six major crimes against the Government
of the United States.

Hi, Del.

Must be an old use of the term -- it's now generally taken to mean "loss of interest or affection for," though a secondary meaning is "loss of loyalty to," which was probably the basis of your comment.

Hi DK,

Guess we have gone the limit on sub-headings on
the previous thread, so just to continue about
disaffection, Disaffection remains on the six major
crimes list, regardless of modern use of the term,
or derivatives therof.

TESS,SD. D is for Disaffection, you can fill in
the rest.
