I can't see your issue. But I can share the at the office we have had SP2 since about day 2 or so since it rolled out and don't see this issue.
I'd get your IT staff to work on this and have them call Microsoft if they don't know what they are doing.
i recently installed SP2 and now it seems to take longer for windows xp to get network connection.
I used to restart and when the login screen popped up and i logged in, my profile was found and loaded.
Now with SP2, if i do the same i get the grey box telling me there is a problem with the profile (couldn't find it or so) and it starts using the local profile (which loads slow too then).
However if i restart and wait half a minute before logging in after the login window pops up, it can find the profile and everything goes fine (and quick) with the roaming profile.
Now, i can't tell my network users to wait half a minute because the're unpatient. Can someone tell me what caused the problem (prob. SP2) and how to solve it?
It seems windows doesn't have network connection at the time the login window pops up..
