Question

Tablet tw700 Win 8.1 HDMI problem

Jun 13, 2015 3:19AM PDT

Have just obtained a Winbook TW700 tablet with Win 8.1.
Trying to connect HDMI to a Panasonic Viera TV.
When first booted up, the Winbook logo appears on both tv and tablet.
This says to me the tablet has two way hdmi communication with tv.
Once the tablet loads Win 8.1, the tv screen goes blank, with no further communication between tv and tablet.
Anybody out there have experience with this kind of problem ?
Kind regards.

I don't have experience with any such tablet, but in general, based on other Windows devices and versions it's a setting somewhere. Either in the video driver (tell it what output to use) or (like the common laptop) a dedicated utility (on my Dell Windows 7 laptop it's winkey + f8 to choose).
Windows 8.1 certainly will be different.

What does the user manual say? Or is there no user manual to be found on the web?

I can't tell if this is the same issue I solved last week but another model turned out to never work on any 720p HDTV. It worked on the 1080p HDTVs we tested on but nothing in any web page alluded or documented this issue.

I don't see what TV you have so here's to luck.
http://www.amazon.com/Winbook-TW700-Tablet-full-size-Microsoft/dp/B00QDJ2FUK is pretty unkind on reviews. I'd get a refund.
