But for me, 64 bit is needed as our office develops apps and know that even with 2GB you want every scrap of processing power.
What is this restart the tablet to free RAM idea? Windows 8.1 is a Virtual Memory based OS and there is no free RAM. If there is free RAM it is wasted RAM. I don't know how long you've been researching this or what OS classes you have taken but something's odd about that statement.
I was out looking at the T100 in a big box store in the USA and it's price was 350USD. Not even close to 1000.

I have a samsung np-rv515a01us. AMD-E450 I think it is. Dual core not quad core for sure. I have 8gb ram. But I use not much. Light web and what have you. Even youtube and netflix work fine. But I hate lugging around the heavy 15.6 inch laptop. Want to carry less. A tablet might be better. Something like this maybe.

It runs full windows 8.1 and not that stupid RT. But some concerns. Its only 2gb ram and I've never seen any tablet with 4gb or more. I don't use much. But 2gb is still ven a little small for windows. 8gb might be over kill but 4gb is probably the minimum isn't it.
Or because its 32 bit 2gb is more than enough even for netflix.
And 64 bit versions are coming q1 2014. But is 64 bit really needed. Any software that benefits from 64 bit or not yet really.
Or is the bottle neck ram and cpu. My current laptop is lots of ram but only dual core cpu. So having quad core tablet would be better anyway even if its only 2gb ram.
Just open 1 or 2 apps at a time because if not enough horsepower ram won't matter.
Like watch a movie on netflix and no other programs open. Then restart the tablet after the movie is over and free the ram and then do my email or web.
The asus is cheap enough and I might even be able to ebay the current laptop and some other things I'm not using.
But if that's too budget I don't want to spend 1000 dollars.
Or if I wait for the 64 bit tablets to come out it might be better. The asus might be to budget.
Thoughts? All welcome...
