Mam,
Please allow me to share my two-cents. Your requirements seem a short order.
1. You need a tablet for your granddaughter which can be used for her homework and at the same time play games.
2. You want it to be easy for you to use.
Let me answer your 2nd need first. Most tablets are easy-to-use given the technology today. I am witness to young kids even those who are in the pre-school period who without qualms enjoy one.
However, the first requirement may be a bit tougher: a tablet for your granddaughter to use both for learning and for fun.
Well, for me iPad answers your need. You may not want the one that is of the latest technology the iPad 4 but you would definitely not go wrong with the older-generation ones, say iPad 2 or the original iPad.
Not only will this be cheaper, this fits all your needs. For learning, you can install various apps which will help your grandkid excel (e.g., Numerosity, Reading Raven).
And in the area of having fun, the iPad will not disappoint you as there is Angry Birds or Fruit Ninja HD among hundreds of thousands of apps waiting for users - young and not-so-young - to take advantage of.
With all these app selection, I bet some would interest you like no other.
Hi - I want to purchase a tablet say between 150 and 250 dollars so I can work with my grand daughter on her homework, play games with her etc.
She's more technical than I am so I want it to be easy for me to use - Any suggestions??
