t6212 burner problems

Jul 18, 2005 3:00PM PDT

Hello, let me start off by saying I do not know very much on the technical side of computers but will work to help someone help me. My problem is out of nowhere my cd/dvd burner has dropped down burning very fast. I could burn a cd in 2-3 minutes now it takes 15 minutes, and to burn a dvd it took an average of 35 minutes now it is up to about 3 hours, it happened all of a sudden. I tried to reinstall the programs and nothing is working at all. My computer is only 2 months old and is a Emachines T6212 if someone could help me it would be appreciated.

Thank You

Ok, i think the forums is really starting to lagg... Try, right-clicking on the drive in my computer, than Properties>Recording and make sure its at the fastest burning speed. Or in your program, make sure the recording speed is at the fastest.

Thanks for the reply, I have done that and also made sure I am running the DMA and not PIO and it is making no difference so I am still not sure.

Thanks

As a followup whenever I try to watch a movie in the dvd drive, it is real choppy and kind of sputters along, any suggestions on what that could be.

Thanks
