t5026 vs t6212 processors

Apr 5, 2005 1:06PM PDT

I want to know which of these emachine computers processor is better? the t5026 and the t6212. The t5026 uses pentium 4 3.06 ghz no ht and the t6212 uses amd. athlon 64 3200+. i know you'll probably say the amd cuz its 64-bit and now amd is beating intel but like how do they compare in speed cuz i cannot find any tests
Thnx.

Had both

And IMHO the T6212 blows the T5026 away in performance. Plus you get a PCI-Express slot whereas the T5026 you can only upgrade to PCI cards.

i dont want to return my emachines t5026 since gotta install everything again.

Only thing better about t6212 is the processor and the pcie graphics slot. I dont really care about the pcie graphics cuz my brother has a computer with that slot so in the future i'll probably play games on his computer. His computer cost $1900.

i just wanna know how much faster the processor is compared to the pentium 4 3.06 ghz of the t5026.

alright
i'm assuming it's a Pressie or Northwood w/HT

but anwyays
the Athlon64 3200+ is comparable to a 3.2GHZ Pentium IV (it's supposed to be, but read on)

BUT!

in reality (in gaming) the Athlon64 3200+ is more like a 3.6GHZ Pentium IV 560/660...ish

Half-Life 2 is where the difference is most visible
as the Pentium IV's weak FPU vs. the Athlon64's strong FPU shows the better chip
