T240HD screen flickers off in bright/strobe DVD scenes

by khaugen73 / January 28, 2010 1:28 PM PST

I have a brand new T240HD. Hooked it up to my DVD player via component cables. In "Star Trek II," when Kirk and Khan are chasing each other in the nebula, whenever there is a bright flash or strobe effect in the scene, my screen essentially shuts off for a moment and then comes back. Noticed this in an early scene of "TMP" as well (you can tell what kind of movies I pop in to test out a new monitor).I've tried different settings, but to no avail. I don't have a Blu-Ray yet (or anything with HDMI); monitor seems to work fine with analog input from PC; don't have cable or an antenna so I haven't tried TV. Help!
