T-MobileWeb on ATT's 3G network

by lilsim89 / January 22, 2008 3:03 PM PST

Phone: Blackjack I
Carrier: Switching from TM to ATT

T-Mobile doesn't have 3G right now, but ATT does. I love T-Mobile's T-MobileWeb which allows unlimited access to all WAP sites, not to mention POP3 email, for only 6 bucks, and I understand that it works no matter what GSM carrier you use. My question is whether the WAP access will be 3G if you use it on ATT's network?

I'm pretty techie, but I'm uncertain of what the outcome will be. Will my Blackjack be connecting to T-Mobile's network over it's normal GPRS network, or will the phone connect through the 3G network to TM's proxies (I'm hoping for the latter).

If anyone uses T-MobileWeb (not to be confused with Internet) I would love to hear some feedback on how it fares for you, especially if you're using ATT for voice.
