T-Mobile or Verizon???

Jun 24, 2004 3:34AM PDT

I have been with AT&T for the past two years and I HATE IT WITH A PASSION. My contract expires soon and I'm looking at either Verizon or T-Mobile. I've heard great things about Verizon's coverage in my area (Portland, OR), but T-Mobile's plans are closer to what I want. I'm also looking at moving in the next year and wondering how difficult it may be to change service areas with both carriers.

Any advice is most appreciated!

I don't know if you went through Verizon, or a Verizon authorized agent, or ordered the phone online. But I hear more problems from the authorized agents than from the Verizon Wireless agents. I always found the Verizon agent more helpful, and more likely to have phones in stock, at least at the corporate store and mall kiosk than at the authorized agents. Also from my experience, the authorized agents don't keep up with the newest phones as quickly as Verizon Wireless does. But don't expect the other carriers to be any better, and you may actually have reduced coverage with other carriers. As for going online, I'll only do so much stuff online, and purchasing a phone won't be one of them.

Hi, i have been with Verizon Wireless for almost 6 years now, and I can say that i am a very dedicated customer! but i will provide my answer with the least-biased opinion of either service unlike other people.. My coverage is great! i have never experience a dropped call, even going in the elevators! A lot of times my freinds even ask if they can use my cellphone because theirs has no reception (usually t-mobile or sprint). So yes, i would most definitely suggest that you choose verizon as your wireless provider. Although they seem expensive, it is entirely worth it. You are paying for the service.
As for changing service area's, theres essentially no problem you will encounter with verizon wireless, because if you have a problem "verizon will make it their problem" quoting a verizon representative. Their customer service is srtongly dedicated to helping you with any problems that you might have and wont be satisfied until they are solved.
And if type of phone has any issue with you, verizon's line up IS getting a LOT better!
in the past years i have had a Nokia, Kyocera, Motorola and Samsung (Currently) and i am thoroughly impressed with my Motorola and am hoping to get the v710 by my next upgrading date (which is always 2 months prior to contract ending date with up to 100+$ to a new phone with 2yrs service agreement).

hope this helps =)
