sysxp.exe

While cleaning up my XP Startup, I found the following file: sysxp.exe.

When I search Google for this file, all the results I get refer to W32.Beagle.AB@mm - sysxp.exe. I've run McAfee's removal tool, but it doesn't locate any infected files.

Thanks,
Roger Richmond

One of the new features of today's pests is to disable the antivirus or such. Try a web based scan like Housecall and see if it detects it.

Thanks, Bob- Housecall also shows me to be clean. I can't locate this sys.exe file on my computer. Any idea how I remove it from my system?

Thanks again for your help,

Roger

If you've looked, you also find that a driver used that name. But your post neglects if you have such hardware.

For now, I'd just research more.
