The last few times I encountered this error it was from 2 sources.
1. A machine that didn't get its yearly cleaning.

2. The machine had malware on it.

Bob
Recently, when using my Dimension 4500, I have been receiving error messages telling me that, when booting up, the following error has occurred:
"One of the files containing the system's Registry data had to be recovered by the use of a log or alternate copy. The recovery was successful."
I have looked at the log files in the Control Panel but there is no indication which files are causing the problems. Two such displays occur before the log-on screen opens and one occurs after I have entered my password.
Please can anyone tell me how these corrupt files can be permanently replaced?
