you get a calendar with possible restore points in bold type. If you click on one of those days, it will show what is available. The most common entry I have a system checkpoint which is the automatic restore point created by the program. If you have created a restore point or performed a system restore, it will be on the list for that day. Why do you have a variety of messages when using the program? I can't answer that. Fortunately, I don't need to use it that often.
Sometimes when I have chosen to undo a restore, I get a message before the operation begins and my computer gets shut down telling me that System Restore will undo the following: giving the date and time of the point to be undone.
But other times I do not get this information. Instead, when I click that I want to undo a point, System Restore doesn't inform me of what point is being undone but just goes ahead and "undones" it. Then, when my computer boots up I get a message telling me what point was just undone.
I wonder why System Restore acts differently in this situation?
Also, is there some simple way to see what the current restore point is? I presume I can find out by going to Restore to an earlier time and using the calendar provided to see what the last restore point is, but I'm wondering if there is a simpler way.
