System restore not working

by Ramadass / January 1, 2005 8:31 AM PST

I have PIV 1.6 GH. 256 DDRAM, Windows XP Pro. System restore points are created according schedule and whenever new software are installed. But when I want to restore to an earlier point, I follow all procedures guided by the wizard, but when I click the "Restore" button, the "time capsule" cursor appears and immediately disappears and restoration is not made. What is wrong and what I should do?

Can't Find Fix For System Restore in MS D/L

In reply to: system restore fix

I have tried system restore in safe mode. That does not work.

Everything I read on MS says the error message from system restore will tell you how to fix the problem but it does not.

Help in xp had some dead ends.

I went to MS D/L and could not find anything that I could d/l to fix my system restore.

I went to windows update for a system scan nothing in there either.

If you have a link to the download it would be appreciated.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
