system restore and virus

P4 2GHz

WinXP Pro SP2 + latest updates

I was virus-free last week and I had created a Restore point then. Now I have a virus. If I restore the system to last week, will I be virus-free?

Some reside in the restore. Can you share what let it in? What detected it? And the name of the virus.

To clear out the restore area is discussed in the virus forum, but the easy way is to disable System Restore, then re-enable it. A new restore point will be made.

are you running anti-virus? if so what? are you sure it's a virus in the first place? scanning and removing the virus might prevent the need to restore. what do you think Bob?

and life goes on...
