Question

System requirements

Aug 22, 2013 4:41PM PDT

Hi guys noob here. I need to get a windows machine to run a rc flight sim program. The system requirements are

To successfully use Phoenix, you will need the following:

• IBM-compatible PC computer with 1.0 Ghz Pentium 3/4 or AMD Athlon/64 compatible processor

• Microsoft Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 8 operating system
• 256MB system memory (RAM)
• 1.5 GB free, uncompressed hard-disk space*
• ATI Radeon 9800/NVidia Geforce Ti4200 with at least 128MB memory
• Microsoft DirectX 9.0c or higher
• DVD-ROM Drive for installation
• 1 free USB 1.1/2.0 port
• 100% DirectX 9 compatible sound card (optional)

Looking for a cheap option in a small footprint. I get confused with Atom and Celeron processors and the like and don't really know what equates to this so any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Skip the Atom and Celeron.

It looks like a throw back to 2000 type machines. For cheap look at any AMD A8 or better desktop. That gets you a comparable CPU and GPU for the job for the price.

So this would do the job.
Prozessor:
AMD® E1-1200™ Dual-Core Prozessor (1,40 GHz, 1 MB L2 Cache)
I have a choice one with one with Nividia geoforce 605 ddr3 1 gig graphics and the other with on board AMD hd7310 about 40 bucks more for separate graphics think it is worth it?

I had a laptop with that CPU.

It was horrible. Unless you can try it out in advance of the sale I'm writing "no deal."

My son got one and it worked so well I had the office get one for testing(!)

My son plays games like Just Cause and more so it must be quite the gamer for the bucks. I did add a second 4GB memory stick.
