System Recovery

Jul 6, 2007 8:59AM PDT

I have a laptop preinstalled with Vista Home Premium.....Im passing it over to my husband and want to do a clean install.
For some reason it isnt working going through Recovery Manager. I go to Recovery Manager - Advanced Options - System Recovery. The computer then reboots and restarts and thats it....it doesnt go any further. I'd use the discs but when I created the no 1 disc didnt work and it says you can only make 1 copy. Help Thank you

Call the manufacturer...

The arrangement is that the manufacturer doesn't have to include a set of recovery discs because you can burn a set yourself from the recovery partition. However, in this situation the design has a failed...the system failed to burn the recovery disks successfully and now fails to boot to the recovery options. I'd make the argument to the manufacturer and request they send you a free copy of the recovery system CDs/DVDs, waiving the customary fee due to defect. At this point it may be the only option.

Good luck.

Thanks John, I actually have already done that and they are sending me the discs, no questions asked. No complaints with their customer service. Thanks for taking the time to replying to my post.
