Question

System hangs and odd behaviors on my PC with windows 7

Feb 25, 2016 7:50PM PST

I have been trying for over a month to resolve the issues I'm having with my computer. I of necessity have to do this myself ,although I have no training to guide me. I am trying to make use of any informative articles, websites etc. Anyways, My mouse and sometimes keyboard also just freeze up at random. Sometimes right after booting up, others once I'm online and in the middle of something. Often , I can't even press ctrl alt del to get to task manager but have to turn off by the power button.I've ran scans for viruses with Avast and even uninstalled and tried AVG but have gone back to Avast. On Resource Monitor which Task Manager will confirm is running, I always now get the outside and title bar of the window with the "desktop " or "working area" a complete blank. Tried to hit file-restore default settings- etc. with no results. Ran SFC /Scannow and it was ubable to fix all sys files that were missing or corrupt but directed me to see log file at CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. But how I get to there is unknown to me. Ran sys update readiness tool... Also running SFC it said at the command prompt my C drive is 32 bit. On sys. information it says my sys is 64 bit . ?? Any advice or if you could point me in a direction where I may be able to get some understanding of the problems and their resolution would be very much appreciated. I hope to hear from someone and if needed will be glad to provide any info towards your better understanding of whats my problem. Thank you for your time...

Answer
typically this condition indicates a RAM or CPU problem

Go into BIOS and see if you can slow the RAM speed down, and certainly if you have overclocked it in the past. If that doesn't solve it, then underclock the CPU.

Is that possible? I'm not sure about whats not essential for my internet connection , my browser (have no add ons or plug ins) and/or my needed programs. I want to thank you for your responding to my post and I will indeed do as you suggested to me. Probally not tonight however... I will let you know if that fixes things. Oh- I have not ever over clocked anything. Am familiar with the term, however haven"t ever messed with that kind of stuff.Okay--- good day to you.
