Dell systems do monitor fan operation. Your fan either didn't immediately start or its starting to wearout Usually at least a good cleaning if dust clogged or inspection is required. In most fans, just get a new fan and install it for all the problem(s) it may arrive to if not corrected. Your type of system being an "all-in-one" generally needs that cooling more than typical desktop because of the reduced space and fan cooling is primary to exhaust it all. Do all this ASAP don't wait and hope for the best. Blowout the PC as best as possible using canned air. -OR- if you have warranty, use it. I'm sure there is some breakdown on that PC assembly. Dell has a simple service manual usually at their support website, use your service tag# to access Dell support docs/manuals for reference.

Hi All
We have a Dell, Model Inspiron One 2310 desktop computer that is running Window 7 Home Premium.
This morning as we turned on the computer the computer started up on a black screen and on the screen it had the writing, 'System Fan Failure.'
We turned off the computer from it's main switch and turned it on again and the computer started
normally.
Why did the computer first say system fan failure when we first started it up?
Regards James
