System Error problem

I have a network setup for internet and the connections go as follows

Wall >> DSL router >> Linksys Wireless Router

Out of the wireless router is 1 desktop directly connected, an XBOX 360 directly connected, and two wireless desktops.

The internet was working on all 4 systems at the same time a couple of days ago.

However, something happened while I was using on of the wireless computers and now I constantly get the System Error message: IP address conflict.

In addition to this the XBOX connection has stopped working and the main computer on the network had to readjust the network settings for the internet to work on all three computers again.

I'm worried that its some type of virus, spyware or something of the sort because it worked perfectly fine 2 days ago and messed up all of a sudden.

Any help or insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

the ip address conflict might lie in that the wifi router and dsl modem are both trying to be the dhcp server (ip address distributor)

what worked for my dsl connection was changing the ip address of the wifi router to 192.168.2.1 (assuming the dsl is 192.168.1.1xx)

try it out, and let me know if it doesn't work.

Try powering off the DSL modem and the wireless router. Wait 30 seconds and turn everything back on.

I have a slight problem during electrical storms and power flickers and this usually solves the problem.

Also, is you wireless router setup as the Forum Sticky suggests?
