system crashing

by sureshot18 / November 16, 2008 2:01 PM PST

so im trying to download a patch for WoW i hadnt played in a while so its the jump from 2.4 to 3.x patch.. its a 2.6gb file. when i run the blizzard downloader, it downloads 2% and then my computer either freezes or restarts. I checked the event log, it says The previous system shutdown at xx:xx:xx on dd/mm/yyyy was unexpected...i clicked on find solution and microsoft is gay and of course doesnt have a solution... Its quite cold outside(snowing) and i opened my window in my room so i know its not overheating, i have all the new drivers... it happens when im hooked up using wireless direct connection, so its not the adapters. and i turned off the peer to peer option if that somehow made a difference. Im out of ideas.. help would be greatly appreciated. specs: Intel Pentium D 820 2.80GHz(Smithfield) | Abit AL8-V | 2GB RAM PQI(2) & OCZ(2) 1024MB DDR2 PC5400 667MHz (4x512) | EVGA GeForce 7600GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 | WDCaviar 250GB | Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic
