I think the line of research I pointed out this morning to somebody else might help: http://reviews.cnet.com/5208-6618-0.html?forumID=6&threadID=18644&start=0
Just try and eliminate one by one all possible causes. It must be some hardware problem, in my opinion.
- Tried resetting the BIOS to it's default values?
- Tried booting with minimal hardware?
Computer boots fine, Win 98 is loading, just before desktop comes up, the machine reboots.
This is a new 98 install (restore system disk-format HDD) on a 733 Pentium 3 with a MSI mobo. System works fine in Safe Mode. Tried different power supply, memory, video card, removed Modem. Took mobo completely out of box, reseated Processor. Thought it was a driver problem but with the restore and reformat of HDD, I ruled it out. Any ideas would be apprciated. Hal
