System a mess

I recently uninstalled Norton AntiVirus after getting BitDefender. My computer slowed down dramatically after the removal of the Norton product and also whenever I would right-click on on a menu item or a file or folder in Windows Explorer a Windows Installer box would pop up initializing an install of Norton AntiVirus.

I removed Symantec SystemWorks as well and after rebooting my system was much faster again however when I right-click on on a menu item or a file or folder in Windows Explorer a Windows Installer box still will pop up initializing an install of Norton AntiVirus.

How can I clean up this mess on my system?

1. Use the MICROSOFT INSTALLER CLEANUP UTILITY (google that) to see if some installer needs to be tossed out for Norton.

2. Use a Context Menu Editor ( http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Context+Menu+Editor ) to remove the item there.
