Question

SyncMaster P2570HD Resolution

Apr 18, 2016 7:11AM PDT

I'm running

Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Processor 3.40 GHz
8.00 GB
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470 (Driver version 364.72)
HDMI to DVI cable

I've just attached a SyncMaster P2570HD monitor, but the best resolution I can use with a normal picture is 1680x1050.

If I change to 1920x1080 (which it says is recommended) the screen stretches beyond the viewable portion, and the resolution looks overly "sharp."

Here's a screenshot.

What type of cables are you using?

It's a HDMI to DVI cable. HDMI out from monitor to DVI in PC.

I also noticed that the screenshot I attached looks fine, which seems to show that the PC and graphics card are working OK, but the monitor isn't displaying properly.
