syncing problems with .mac

Jun 26, 2006 1:16AM PDT

I have never been really comfortable with the syncing process within .mac. I have been trying to sync/update my desktop address book to .mac. Oddly, the .mac address book comes up with lots of names but doesn't include emails and other data on Most entries.

Also, it usually says the login failed, even though when I go back through the steps, it verifies the login.

I am running 10.4.6 on a G5.

Thanks for any tips. I have followed the Apple tips religiously but there must be something I am missing.

Sync does no do anything for emails.
The address book should work fine but what are you trying to sync with?

When you say "Emails" do you mean Email addresses or real eamails?

sync problems

Sorry, I wasn't concise.

When I try to sync my desktop address book to my .mac account, the sync seems to accept the names in the address book but ignores most, but not all, of the email address information.

Most of the time I also get an error message that my .mac login is not correct, but my login says it is verified.

In the Apple forums, there seem to be a lot of unhappy people with the syncing, but no moderator/Apple person has responded.

I stopped using it a while ago, it was ok then, but I will go revisit and see if I have the same problems.
