Syncing IPod Classic with Calendar in Microsoft Outlook 07

Feb 21, 2008 3:56AM PST

I can't get my IPod to sync with my calendar. I've at least gotten to a screen that tells me to log off Windows and try again. But, that doesn't work either. I've gone in and checked and "un" checked all the options on the calendar Options, one at a time, and no change. Can you give me a clue about how I can do this. I DO have the Ipod set to sync with my Outlook Calendar.

Thanks

Excact same problem
Mar 4, 2008 12:09AM PST

I know this doesn't help you pwallace63 but I'm having the exact same problem with my ipod classic and with outlook 2007 so maybe its a software glitch with itunes or ipod as I can get outlook to sync to my mobile phone no problem. so hopefully it will be sorted with a software upgrade for either the ipod or itunes (i have the latest version of both by the way) I'll post an answer if i find one and would hope you could do the same if you get one.

Syncing iPod Classic With Calendar In Microsoft Outlook 07
Sep 16, 2008 7:04PM PDT

I had the same problem for months. I have ipod classic 80gb and am using PC with XP and Outlook 2007. Itunes/ ipod updates didn't work. I have come to loath the 'Log Out Of Windows....' dialogue box. This is how I solved the problem.

1. Open Outlook
2. Go to Tools/ Trust Center/ Add-ins
3. In 'Inactive Application Add-in', click on 'iTunes Outlook Add-ins' then click on Go at the bottom of the screen (make sure the drop down box to the left of the go button reads 'COM Add-ins')
4. Tick the 'iTunes Outlook Add-in' box and click OK
5. Untick 'Apply Macro Security Settings To Installed Add-ins'
6. Click OK and close Outlook
7. Connect iPod/ open iTunes
8. Open Contact tab and tick 'Sync Calendars From Microsoft Outlook' and choose 'Selected Calendar'
9. Tick the calendar you want to sync
10. Click 'Apply'

Your iPod should now sync with Outlook 2007 calendar (it does on mine, anyway).

To be fair, this is the solution I worked out for myself and I'm not entirely sure if it's a good idea to disable the Macro Security Settings To Installed Add-ins. But if you don't, everytime you restart Outlook the iTune Outlook Add-in has become Inactive and you have to repeat the whole procedure.

Also, I seem to remember some discussion on the web about the iTunes Outlook Add-in causing Outlook to crash when made active. I personally haven't found that the case, but it's only fair to mention it.

I hope this solves your problem, as I can find many people complaining about this problem, but very little real advise on how to remedy it.
