Synchronizing library with mp3 player

I've recently got a sony mp3 player and am trying to get to grips with sonicstage software! Having used i-tunes before I'm not finding it very intuitive. Firstly when you delete a track or album from the library on the computer it doesn't seem to update the mp3 when I connect it? So I have to go and find the track / album in the device and delete from there as well?

This is also difficult to do as the tracks on the device are listed in alphabetical order by group name. I can't see how you can change the way these are displayed? so unless I know exactely in what group (and lots of them are called unknown?) the track I want to delete is in then there is no way I can find it.

Other than deleting all tracks and then re-transferring them I can't see anyway to make them synchronize - am I just missing something really simple???
