sync contacts to landline/VoIP phone?

Dec 8, 2010 3:02AM PST

I'm looking for a new home office phone that will sync well with my outlook contacts. I've been using a Vyech phone for about a year now - the sync process is awkward and limited. Now the battery is dying - time for a new phone.

I read a cnet review of Plantronics landline/VoIP phone - there were comments about similar shortcomings to the Vtech I have now.

Are there any better options? It seems if my smartphone can sync up with my (large) contact list, it should be easy for a home/office phone to do the same via USB.

Any suggestions much appreciated!

Depends...100 is enough, but 200 is not enough

I can get by with 100 on my office handset. But my Outlook contacts are approaching 300 now. So rather than just pushing a button to sync, I have to pick and choose which to transfer to get the list under 100. Too much hassle - one of the reasons I'm fed up with the Vtech.

Most of us use handheld devices with multiple GB capacity these days. How much memory can a few hundred contacts use?

But the products are under heavy competition for price point and shelf space. Even if more RAM in the phone could be had the design would be hacked and not put into production. Sorry if this upsets anyone.

And then we have the user interface issue. 300 contacts on your current design portable phone is too much to scroll with.
