Synaptics touchpad cursor jumping

Many posts over the past several years about drivers, reinstall OS, etc. but nothing worked for me on my new Toshiba A205-S5804 notebook until I turned off my electro-static air cleaner to remove & clean the collector plates. It was sitting under the laptop under the table. That was the cause. I moved it a few feet away and that fixed the problem.

Thanks to all the previous posts - there were some that talked about electrical interference but usually from wireless mice & keyboards.
