I uninstalled Norton Systemworks 2005 and Norton Ghost 9.x. and reinstalled both. Now the program SYSWSC.exe does not show in my running processes list and the CPU cycles are generally at 99% idle. Looks like that did it.

My task manager shows the program SYSWSC.exe using 50% of my CPU cycles. I traced the program to the Windows Service SynWMI Service. If I dont allow this service to run at startup my CPU shows 99% idle. If I allow the service to run it shows SYSWSC.exe using 50%. I know this is related to the Symanrec Secuirty program but do I really need to keep it running? If so how can I get it to stop eating my CPU cycles.
