Switching graphics... Mobile AMD card 6770m

Jun 11, 2011 5:42PM PDT

I don't know how to switch the graphics from the intel hd 3000 to my ATI 6770m. I went to the settings on my new game shogun 2 and noticed it's using my intel hd 3000 by default, I wanted it to use my dedicated graphics how do change the GPU? The catalyst control center will not allow me to directly control which card can be used.

Hello, in order to use your dedicated graphics you have to follow these 2 steps:

a) Enter the BIOS (with F10) and switch the video mode from Dynamic to Fixed.
b) Install the latest ATI drivers and then choose the desired GPU to use from Properties (Right Click on the Desktop).

We find it's either fully automatic and there's nothing we can do OR we read the product manual and see if there is some keyboard combo of buttons to switch it on. If you need members to check your product's manual, please supply a direct link.

2 ideas.

1. HP CoolSense. Try it set to off.

2. Head to HP.COM, click on the chat and ask them.

Remember that I'd been through this MANY MANY times. Unless they tell us how to kick it to "on" it's likely to be a fully automatic feature with no user controls.
