Question

Switching between multiple monitors

Apr 15, 2018 12:52PM PDT

The setup, I have a desktop expanded across three monitors. I also have a 4th output for a capture card that is duplicating my primary monitor. This is giving me a performance hit when I'm gaming.

What I would like, what I'm hoping someone can help with is switching between having my 3 expanded displays and the 4th output turned off for 1 setting and just my primary display with the 4th duplicate only. Is there a way for doing this? If it helps the card is a GTX 1070.

What if you use a HDMI splitter?

Using display ports
Apr 16, 2018 5:23PM PDT

Sorry about the missing information. My card has 3 display ports and 1 HDMI. I use the 3 display ports for my monitors and the HDMI is for the capture card. That rules out using an HDMI splitter.

I was hoping to use native software and avoid using third party software.

I worry here. Aren't games "third party software"?

Also, there are passive display port splitters and then off to HDMI with a display port to HDMI for your other use. I fear that your requirements are unnecessary restrictive. That is, I do encounter folk that do this and are worse for wear.
