switched from VERZION to COX..now my speakers dont work help

i recentely switched from verzion to cox didnt unplug the speakers..but all of a sudden they wont even cut on..when i go to device manager, system speaker, it says no devices are installed..how can i fix this problem? is it my sound drivers or what?

cpu type: Intel Pentium 4, 1600 MHz (16 x 100)
motherboard chipset:Intel Brookdale i845D
audio adapter: Intel 82801BA ICH2 - AC'97 Audio Controller [B-5]
