Switch User Question

If I'm logged in, I've discovered if I switch user, the same desktop comes up.
Is it because I'm using the same password when I switch user?

Nothing to do with the password.

Did you create both profiles? It could be that no one customized them so they'd be at the defaults. You could try changing the desktop them in one of them and see if it sticks.

When you 'switch user'

When you 'switch user' as opposed to shut down, you are returned to the Welcome Screen where all user accounts are shown.

Do you see two different user accounts with two different user names? If so, they are different accounts.
