Sweetest Phone?

Nov 29, 2004 6:41AM PST

I saw the commercial for the Motorola Razr V3 and it looks so sweet! It's futurisic, super thin, and I heard it's made out of some kind of crazy aircraft aluminum. It's bluetooth capable and that is the hot new thing right?! Also visited the site www.hellomoto.com/us/v3 and it really is unlike any cell phone I've ever seen. Any idea on the price of this one? Anyone own it and use the camera and video capture feature? My contract is almost up (whew finally) and I want this phone!

I just checked out this phone at the Cingular store. I have Sprint service and I was wondering whether Sprint would transfer my service to the razr.... I was too impatient to speak with a Sprint customer service representative to find out - I had to make a reservation to speak with a customer service rep! I can't believe it! I have to wait to speak to a person who is going to schedule to talk to a different person at a later time... unbelievable...

Anyway, the phone looks cool, is lightweight, and it definitely looks like a must have. I've seen prices as low as $399 on line, but the Cingular store is selling it for $499 with a contract. It will sell you the phone alone for $619... are they kidding? Oh, and don't drop the phone, it's fragile, and Cingular will not provide phone loss/damage coverage on this phone.

I have seen people offering this phone on eBay, brand new ones selling for about $450-600.
Beware of some others who are selling a supposed web link where you will order another item for $40, and then in about 3 month you may receive a RAZR V3 free as a promotion.
Sounds too good to be true? It probably is. Furthermore it is coming from somewhere abroad, who knows from where!
Some of these auctions are selling for $450 (just for the web site address- not the actual phone). Can you imagine, some morons are paying so much money for something that can be a scam. People never learn.

I suggest if you wait a few months (patience!), I am sure you can get this phone much cheaper and also it will be available through other carriers.
Good luck!

I'm wondering how this phone compares overall to the Sony Ericsson P900 - I might be talking apples and oranges here, but as far as functions go, I'm thinking the Sony P900 might be better.... but it aint cheap at about $600.

I've had the razr for a few days and it's great. It feels solid and all the features work well. I have big hands and the bttons are easy to acurately dial. It's the best cell phone I've used so far.

In the US, Cingular gets it exclusively for 100 days and they currently sell it for $499
