This line of cameras is mostly sold on eBay and usually do not include sufficient information in their user's guide. A common complaint.
The advertisements usually contain misleading information. i.e. the DC-8590 is not an 8 megapixel camera. If your read the specifications, it uses a 2048 x 1536 sensor, which is 3 megapixels.
They achieve 8 megapixels by interpolation. The same thing you do when you use software to take a 3 meg photo and resize it upward to 3264 x 2448 (8 megapixels). You lose picture quality when you do this.
Most of these cameras are made in Taiwan or China.
They are not made by any of the major camera manufacturers.

Just purchased your DC-8590 camera and I have a couple of questions. First of all I?ve been using digital cameras for nearly 8 years and consider my experience level to be ?above average?. However, I am struggling with the user guide for the mode settings. It just shows icons without the text to explain their function. Can anyone please explain (on page 14 of the user guide) the following icons; the capital letter ?A?: with the "light" shining off to the left? The rectangular box with 3 dots or 6 dots contained inside? Also ? Is there a way to make the camera flash default to auto every time the camera is turned on? What is the recommended EV setting? Many thanks for your assistance. Bill
