Suspicious Mail

May 10, 2004 8:24AM PDT

I have Windows XP Home SP1 and have OE6. I have the Preview Pane Disabled. My ISP is the local phone co.
They also quarantine any suspicious mail before it gets to my PC. I have one on it that was sent today, thought someone may have seen the same message lately and may know what it could be. I have no intension of opening it. Sender is...gotocustomercare@citrixonline.com Subject: LAST CHANCE-TRY GO TO MY PC

GoToMyPC is a reputable company that allows you to access your PC from anywhere, but there are lots of spammers out there that are trying to sell GoToMyPC thru their affiliate programs, so I suspect that's all that is. So, I'd say it's spam, but not necessarily dangerous spam.

Here's a review of GoToMyPC if you want to see more of what it actually is:

Or, you can visit gotomypc.com directly and see more about it.

Hang in there.

Thanks Buntah,
I appreciate the reply. I did check it out after posting this, but it's hard to tell the good guys from the bad guys any more. So thought I would ask someone with more PC knowledge than myself.

Larry, The Safest Way.....
May 10, 2004 12:35PM PDT

...is to simply delete ALL unknown e-mail BEFORE opening it. Although this one may be fine, links to other sites can redirect you to virus and spyware downloads. Clearly, it's your choice on how you want to handle your mail, but that type of mail is basically SPAM. I only open the mail from sources that I know.

Hope this helps.

Hi Grif,
Just got online, been mowing grass. I do delete all suspicious mail.
Thanks for the good advice.
