Suse 9.3/Wine

Jun 25, 2005 1:27AM PDT

Dell 800 mhz 133fsb
Windows Me/Suse 9.3
Dial-up 56k
Zoom external modem v.92 v.44

I am new to Wine and Suse 9.3 would like to run Wine application

Opened Yast searched for Wine found 2 entries
''Am Ms Window emulator (alpha) 55.2 mb 20050211-4''
''Xmms-plugins 9.2 mb 1.2.9-77
Both of these files install from Suse 9.3 5 cd disk
Am ms file suggested using ''Wine program.exe'' to start Wine
This does not work I Do not even get error message.
Also tried find folders for ''program.exe'' does not exist. There is a program ''Wine program.exe.so'' which also does not work. All suggestion from ''Read Me'' are not acccomplishing anything.

Search of ''winehq.com" shows updated apps for Wine program
Search of Suse forum has suggestions to download ''winetools''

Can I open wine from the existing apps or do I need to download an update or winetools.

Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Ray

Ok

this --> Am ms file suggested using ''Wine program.exe'' to start Wine means this --> lets say you wanted to run Microsofts Notepad you would then enter into a shell prompt the following
wine notepad.exe

The word program is a reference to whatever program name it is you wish to run. Some are pre-configured in an 'off the shelf wine' install most are not and need to be setup by you

Google it for info http://www.google.com
