It was actually a question asked elsewhere

I couldn't come up with a good answer, apparently nobody here could either. I certainly have no need or desire for more than one wife.

The question just got me to thinking and I couldn't come up with a legitimate reason for it to be illegal. Other than religous and we don't legislate religion do we I can't think of a legal reason.

But I'm not a lawyer and don't play one on TV either.
