The list outlined in the manual is what we know will consistently work with PC Share. Those are the specs we stand behind on the technology thus far. We say they will work, and they do.
Any different specifications that work outside of what is listed should be considered a bonus, unexpected, pleasant surprise.
That?s our official stance.
Now, if you?d like to create a thread of what other formats you?ve found work for you and open that up to the community of C|net Forum readers, I wouldn?t mind one bit. But there won?t be any customer support available for formats listed outside of the manual?s guidelines.
Maybe Mr. Samsung can help with this. I think the question has been raised here before. Now that I have PC Share Manager working, I'm wondering what is *really* supported video types.
Obviously, the easy answer is "look in the manual." The manual states XVID .avi files 800x600 with PCM or ADPCM audio will play. Not mp3 audio? I think I have .avi files with mp3 audio that seem to play. The TV obviously plays mp3 music files. Is the list in the manual all-inclusive?
Also, the manual says .vob files with a resolution of 1920x1200 with AC3 audio will work. I have VOB files from my DVD collection that are 720x480 and play okay. Is the 1920x1200 a maximum resolution?
I get some beautiful 1280x720 XVID .avi files from BeyondTV but they don't play on the TV; they're an error about invalid resolution. I suppose this makes sense because, according to the manual, XVID maxes out at 800x600 as I mentioned above.
Is there a more well-defined list of what will play on the TV?
