Question

superoneclick download problem

Sep 16, 2011 12:05AM PDT

I downloaded superoneclick for android rooting and the file won't open up. It tells me that windows cannot open the folder. The compressed zip folder superoneclickv1.8 -shortfuse[2].zip is invalid. Any suggestions?

Superoneclick download and zip file problem
Nov 3, 2011 3:08AM PDT

I have been trying for hours now to get a working copy of superoneclick downloaded and opened. v2.1.1 link does not woek at all on the developers web site and 2.1 downloads but will not extract. I even went as far as downloading a special program for unzipping called WinRaR and that one will force it to unzip but then the executable file gives me an "unexpected end of archive" error. trying to root my Samsung Galaxy Tab. Tried Z4root and it runs, but goes back to the home screen without rebooting, slows performance of the tab to a crawl to the point that I have to maunally reboot and then low and behold find out that it did not root anyhow. I have tried both with USB debugging on and off. No Joy.

Seems to be

a problem for the developers then. Do they have a contact option to tell them about it?

Finally found another option
Nov 3, 2011 8:13AM PDT

I gave up on superclick as well as z4root. Suprisingly, I found a tiny little post that informed me that neither one of these programs would have worked on my 2.3.4 version of Android which has been out for months. can't imagine how many people have wasted as much time as I have. Unfortunately it appears to be a little know fact that the latest update by Sprint pretty much killed those from being an option. Regardless, I was never able to get Superoneclick to download properly. What I found was this other option which turned out to be very easy. It was a bit scary, but worked flawlessly and rooted my Galaxy Tablet. What I believe it did was flash my stock ROM rooted.

Had to click on the second download (from Megaupload website) option because the first one was in Chinese. Which also added to me being even more scared, but it worked perfectly. I did have to update my Samsung driver to connect properly, so that the Odin3 program would recognize my Tab but that was easy.
