SUPERAntiSpyware is it good?

by Steve1209 / May 27, 2007 11:02 AM PDT

Hi All,

I just read about SUPERAntiSpyware in a magazine but I thought I'd check it out here. I use all of the following:
Spysweeper
AVG Anti-spyware 7.5 (Formerly Ewido)
Ad-Aware SE 1.06SR1
Spybot S&D 1.4
Spyware Blaster
Window's Defender

My Antivirus is AntiVir Personal Edition Classic (FREE). I don't use a firewall currently BUT have used Zone Alarm free previously!
Is SUPERAntiSpyware needed, I'm asking about the FREE version? When I say needed do I need to add anything on top of all I have? Is it better rated than other things I have listed & I should eliminate something and replace SUPERAntiSpyware in it's place or just ADD it?

Thanks for any direction
Steve

Just One Man's Opinion but....

You seem to have sufficient AV/AS on board already. AVG AS with 3/4 million threats recognized is about extensive as I've seen so...A 2 way (IN & OUT) Firewall is a must or a Statefull Packet Inspection (SPI) router. Since router is a Hardware firewall, you can also have 1 software firewall as well (by passing the "only 1 firewall rule)". I found my router firewall has left my software one with nothing to do. Every now & then I check to see if it still exists (LOL).

"Nothing catches everything" but if you keep adding more, you may start running into conflicts.
If your current serves you well (you're not being hit by much now) I would get firewall and be happy.
You can always do an online scan if you have reason to be worried.
Good Luck & safe computing! Grin

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
