General discussion

Super Bowl. Saints win.

Feb 7, 2010 10:59AM PST

Kudos to the Saints

I thought they'd lose, but started cheering for them in the first
quarter after they put the balls to the wall on the goal line even into
the 4th down trying to make the touchdown. They didn't make the
touchdown, but it showed they were there to play and give it their all,
no holds barred, no regard for playing it safe. Knew it would be a game
then. Then that controversial 2 point conversion, just another example
of not playing it safe, but putting it to the other team. One of the
best games since the days of Terry Bradshaw with the Steelers and Bob
Griese with the Dolphins super bowl days. Great game. Less penalties
than I expected, seems some blind eyes turned to things not happening
directly around the ball. A good game to watch, and the most deserving
team won.

Long party...

It's going to be a long party in NOLA, Mardi Gras is on the 16th, and Carnival starts a week prior.

that's for sure.

Even at the start of the second half I thought the Saints would start to come unglued, but they held it together. They made the big plays, that's all there was to it. I admired their ***** in the first half and it paid off in the second. The game was better balanced than the final score indicated. I'm still a little shocked by the outcome and I know the Colts are. Don't you know some bookies are paying up big money now too? What were the odds coming into the game?

The Partiots were favored 8/1. I think you're right, a lot of money is about to change hands.

It's confusing, Jonah...

Jonah, when money is involved,it is somewhat confusing. The Casinos don't want to get too much money bet on one side, so they have the point system. So they adjust the point spread to attract bettors to one side if the total amount bet on the other one gets too large.
