That said, it would be hard to spend 10K for a set.

My old TV broke and I've started shopping for a new one. Last time I was looking for a TV getting 1080p and 120hz was the highest end LCD TV you could get.
Now I'm overwhelmed by the choices and terminology. I tend to keep TVs for many years so I'd like to future proof as much as possible, but I'm not spending $10,000 on a TV.
The size that seems to fit my room is a 55 inch and I was looking for a curved set. I'm guessing OLED is way too expensive at this point so I was thinking of a UHD 55 inch from Samsung. Then I saw there are SUHD, but they're going for a substantial premium over the UHD.
Is the SUHD worth the money if you're going to be keeping the TV as long as it lasts? I can't really figure out what it means or does.
Any other sets you'd suggest?

I worry about 4K HDTV. Look at the chart again. You have to be 4 feet from the screen. There's also this CNET article.

OLED does address an issue with LCD. But 4K isn't the answer.
